Janice Townsend passed away on May 1, 2015 in Oklahoma City. She was born on October 16, 1941 in Tulsa, OK to where she graduated from Will Rogers High School and went on to attend the University of Tulsa. Janice obtained her CPS Certification and spent most of her career as an oilfield secretary and retired from Oklahoma Natural Gas Company. She was a past member of Delta Gamma Sorority, PEO, Service League of Muskogee, Professional Secretaries International, Desk & Derrick, Executive Women International, Iris Club of Tulsa & Tulsa Garden Club. Janice was a breast cancer survivor and loved to travel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Maxine Lester; husband, Bill Townsend; son, Justin Loran Acebo. She leaves behind her son, Jason L. Acebo and his wife Anna; 3 step-sons and their wives; 1 step-daughter, 7 step-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; many other loving family and friends. Viewing 4-8 PM Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the funeral home with family greeting friends from 5-8PM. Services held 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at South Lakes Chapel with burial at 1:00 PM at Vista Cemetery in Asher, Oklahoma.
