Memorial services for Mr. Jay L. Allen, age 83, of Oklahoma City, will begin at 10:00 a.m. on July 23rd, 2012 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 2717 W. Hefner Road, Oklahoma City. The Reverend Robert Rose will be officiating. The ceremony will also include other family and friends. Jay was born April 9th, 1929 in Angola, Kansas. The son of Harry L. and Jessie Allen. He passed away Thursday July 19th, 2012 at Deaconess Hospital, Oklahoma City. Jay is survived by sisters Shirley Jean Cooke and Ruth Elain Logan; daughter Melanie Lucido and husband Michael Lucido and grandsons John Michael, Joseph and Luke Lucido; son Brent Allen and wife Kelley. Jay was stricken with Polio at age 9 and lived his life as a great example of perseverance and courage. Jay was a friend of Bill Wilson and devoted over 30+ years to helping others and making a difference in other peoples lives.
