Lifelong Oklahoma City resident Jay T. Spivey passed away September 19, 2009 with his family by his side. He was born in Oklahoma City, November 21, 1936 to J.T. and Gladys Evelyn Spivey. He attended school in Oklahoma City and graduated from Central High School. Jay started a long and talented career in the entertainment industry by working as a projectionist at the Criterion Theatre. He worked for WKY-TV for 32 years as a production and stage manager. He used his talent behind the scenes at Metro Church, Kenneth Copeland Ministries and for several musicians and entertainers as well as 3 U.S. Presidents. He later owned and operated Lighting Design, and after retirement, he worked as a door greeter at Sams. He was an active member of Crossings Community Church. Even while working, family was a priority in his life. He is survived by his wife; Barbara Ann Spivey, of the home, children; James Terry Spivey and Cindy of Destin, FL, Crystal Ann Shackelford of Joplin, MO, Stacey Renae Marino and Tony of Pearland, TX, Joe Dale Hamilton and Lori of Frisco, TX, grandchildren; Christopher Lee Shackelford of Newport Richey, FL, Stephanie Rose Marino of Dallas, TX, Camden Anthony Marino of Hallandale, FL, James Chase Spivey, of Destin, FL, Sterling Jay Marino, deployed with the U.S. Marine Corp., Hayley Marie Spivey of Tuscaloosa, AL, Jon Austin Marino of Pearland, TX, Hayden and Lindsey Hamilton of Frisco, TX, great-grandchild; Jayden Alexander Marino of Dallas, TX, brother; Bob G. Spivey and Glenda of OKC, OK, Nephew; Robert Spivey of Midwest City, and Niece; Pamela Armstrong of Arlington, TX. Visitation with family will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the Funeral home.
