A service to celebrate the life of Jeff Laird will be at 10:30 AM on Friday September 23, 2022 at Southern Hills Baptist Church Chapel (8601 S. Pennsylvania Ave. OKC, OK)

In the spirit of Jeff's joy for life and love of the Oklahoma Sooners, the family requests that attendees of the service wear OU clothing or dress in crimson and cream as if you were attending a game in Norman as an OU fan.

Jeff R. Laird Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed from this life on Monday, September 19, 2022. He was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, on March 20, 1946. In 1964 he graduated from Sulphur High School, and from there joined the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge from service. After his military service Jeff decided that he wanted to help others through their legal situations. He began his studies as an attorney at law and spent his undergrad at The University of Oklahoma, later to attain his Juris Doctorate from Oklahoma City University in 1976. In 1989 Jeff married his soulmate Debbie (Hunt). Debbie and Jeff attended OU football and basketball games home and away, including bowl games until her health made it too difficult to continue. One of their favorite things was attending concerts of old "rock and rollers". His beloved wife passed on September 27 th 2019, and one of the last concerts she and Jeff attended together was Bob Seger. It was one of his favorite memories with her. Jeff had a passion for music, classic cars, and athletics. Jeff was a talented guitar player, singer and songwriter. He loved attending sporting events at The University of Oklahoma, especially football games. Jeff was a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and the Sooner Club of OU Athletics. Jeff was a constant encourager and inspired many to follow as a friend of Bill. Jeff always accepted people for who they were. He could see through the surface appearances to a person's heart and recognized they are worthy of love. He was quick to forgive those who truly changed from their mistakes; and he took pride in saying that he always wanted to help those who encountered misfortune. Jeff was extremely proud of the foundation he built with Laird Hammons Laird - it is the place where he put his ideals into practice.
