Jerome Francis
Springer
August 5, 1937 – September 7, 2025
The Lord called Jerome (Jerry) Francis Springer, 88, home on Sunday September 7th, 2025 after sustaining complications from a fall at his home a month earlier.
Jerry was born in Rochester, Minnesota on August 5, 1937 to Frank and Nelle Springer. Jerry was a 1959 graduate of Southwest Missouri State University (Missouri State). He was also a ROTC graduate. He served three years in the United States Army and ten years in the Army Reserves where he attained the rank of Captain.
Jerry married Judy Kaehler on September 14th, 1963. They were married just shy of 62 years. He served thirty-two years with the Veterans Administration, ultimately becoming the Chief of Supply. After eight moves, he retired to Bangor, Wisconsin to spend time with family and friends. In 2018 he moved to Oklahoma City to be closer to his son Jeff and daughter Pamela and grandson Kaehler.
Jerry especially enjoyed time with his family and friends and being a member of a Fantasy Football League. He was known as the Army Seal, and with the help of his grandson, he won the league last year! Jerry was a cradle Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Nelle Springer, brother-in-law, Al Bednar and nephew, Tommy Bednar.
He is survived by his loving wife Judy Springer of Oklahoma City; his son Jeff Springer of Oklahoma City; his daughter Pamela Stillings and son-in-law Jerry Stillings of Oklahoma City; his grandson Kaehler Stillings and granddaughter-in law- Emily Stillings of Norman, Oklahoma; sister Noreen Bednar of California and numerous nieces and nephews.
