Friends may send floral arrangements to the funeral home, or make a donation to St. Jude's in memory of Jerry. Visitation will be Wednesday March 3, from 4-8 PM at Vondel Smith Mortuary at South Lakes. A Rosary service will be Thursday March 4th at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Friday March 5, 2021 at St. Marks Catholic (3939 W. Tecumseh Norman, OK). Jerry, 79, passed away on Friday February 26, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born to Walter & Frances (Afinowicz) Manek on February 18, 1942 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Jerry grew up in Oklahoma City, OK with his siblings and graduated from Capitol Hill High School. In 1963 Jerry enlisted in the United States Army, and received his honorable discharge in 1965. Jerry was proud of the years he spent serving his country. On September 5th, 1964, Jerry married the love of his life Delia (Santos) in Oklahoma City where the two settled and established their family, welcoming two sons into the world. Jerry was what you may call a "handyman" and could fix nearly anything you put in front of him. For many years he worked as the chief maintenance contractor at Fred Jones Ford Mfg. Jerry also took a position with his son's business where he painted and worked various remodeling projects. Although work was very important, Jerry always put his family first. He was also a longtime member at St. Marks Catholic Church with his wife Delia. Jerry was a devoted son, brother, husband, a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and a trusted friend who will be forever missed. He was preceded in death by his: Parents; Walter & Frances Manek, Sister; Dorthey Manek Sister-in-law; Brigitte Manek Jerry is survived by his: Wife Delia Manek Sons: Jerry Dean Manek Jr. and his wife Mindy and Darren Manek & his wife Teri; Brothers; Leon Manek and wife Wanda and family, Larry Manek and family Grandchildren; Halen Manek, Jerisa Carroll, Mariah Manek, Sasha Manek, Briella Manek Lauren Hickman, Erika Stewart and six great grandbabies as well as many nieces and nephews, & close friends.
