In Loving Memory of Jesse Peter “J.P.” Brehm
Jesse Peter “J.P.” Brehm was born on December 12, 1943, in Clinton, Oklahoma, to John and Nellie Brehm. On Saturday, October 3, 2026, J.P. passed away in Oklahoma City at the age of 82, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a family who loved him deeply.
J.P. was a proud Clinton, Oklahoma, boy who grew up surrounded by family. He attended Clinton Public Schools and graduated from Clinton High School in 1962. Those early years in Clinton helped shape the man he would become—hardworking, loyal, determined, and devoted to the people he loved.
In 1964, J.P. married the love of his life, Lorinda Heintz Brehm. Together, they built a life filled with family, hard work, laughter, and countless memories. J.P. worked in the textile industry, helping establish new facilities in Georgia, Tennessee, and Mississippi. In 1973, the family returned home to Oklahoma and settled in Midwest City, where J.P. began a new chapter in the plumbing and pipefitting industry.
J.P. took great pride in his work and in the trade to which he dedicated so many years of his life. On December 4, 2024, he received his 50-year life membership—a meaningful recognition of a lifetime of dedication, commitment, and hard work.
But for all that J.P. accomplished in his working life, some of his greatest accomplishments happened outside of work.
He was a dad.
For many years, J.P. coached both of his girls’ softball teams. He didn’t simply stand on the sidelines—he was there in the dirt, in the dugout, at practices, and at games, giving his time and sharing his love. Coaching gave him the opportunity to be close to his girls, to teach them, encourage them, and create memories they would carry with them for the rest of their lives.
The bond J.P. shared with his daughters was something truly special. The memories they made together cannot be measured, and the love between them will never fade. Long after the games were over and the softball fields were quiet, those moments will remain some of the most treasured memories of his life and theirs.
J.P. was a man who loved his family deeply. He gave of himself in ways that may not always have been spoken but were felt. His presence, his stories, his guidance, his sense of humor, and simply knowing he was there meant more than words could ever express.
J.P. was preceded in death by his first wife Lorinda Kay Heintz Brehm, his second wife Ruth Spanglehour Brehm; parents, John and Nellie Brehm; his brothers, Donald, Jerry, and John Dale; and his sisters, Ruby Hayes, Betty Hayes, Wanda Adams, and Mildred Deimund.
He leaves behind a family who will carry his memory and his love with them always: Candace Montgomery; Tammy and Michael Livingston; grandchildren Megan Williams, Cory and Maranda Montgomery, Hannah, Rachel, Kyle, and Ashley Arbuthnot; and great-grandchildren Carson Hargrave, Maggie, and Cora Montgomery.
Though J.P. is no longer here to coach from the sidelines, tell a story, share a laugh, or simply be there for the people he loved the life he lived continues through his family.
His greatest legacy is not measured in years, accomplishments, or memberships. It is found in the people he loved the lives he touched, the lessons he taught, and the memories he left behind.
J.P. will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Until we meet again, Dad/Pops. You will always have a place in our hearts.
