Jim, 72, went to be with the Lord on March 30, 2015. The son of Jess William & Viola LaGrace (Addington) Ward, Jim was born Dec 13, 1942 in Muskogee, OK. After graduating from Muskogee Central High School, Jim honorably served his country in the US Air Force Reserves for 6 years. On January 12, 1973, Jim married Lola Faye Carroll & together shared more than 42 years of marriage. He diligently provided a warm & loving home for his family. Jim worked as a finance manager for Hertz and retired in 2003. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed barbershop music, sports and was a dedicated patriot. He was a member of New Heights Baptist Church and enjoyed performing in services. A loving husband, devoted father and doting grandfather, Jim will be deeply missed. Preceded in death by his parents. Jim leaves cherished memories with his loving wife, Lola; daughters: Suzanne Dickens & husband, Leon; and Andrea Riley & husband, Kasey; brother, Glenn Ward & wife, Cynthia; 2 grandchildren: Kendall Dickens & Kade Riley; Niece, Robin Brooks & husband, Christopher; and great niece Michelle Stone. Viewing will be 4-8 PM Thursday at Vondel Smith Mortuary, S. Lakes with the family greeting friends 6-8 PM. Services to celebrate his life will be held 10:00 AM Friday, April 3, 2015 at New Heights Baptist Church, 1414 SW 119th St, OKC with burial following at 4:00 PM at New Home Cemetery in Peggs, OK.
