Jimmy, 63, went to be with the Lord on Feb 16, 2015. He was born March 8, 1951 in OKC, OK to Irene & Jimmy Johnson, Sr. After his graduation from Hancock North Central High School, Bay St. Louis, MS in 1969, Jimmy honorably served his country as a Sergeant in the US Air Force during Vietnam. He later earned his Associates Degree from OCCC in electrical engineering and worked in the elevator industry for more than 40 years. Jimmy was an active member of numerous organizations including the National Assoc. of Elevator Contractors, Safety Authorities International, OK Minority Supplier Enterprise, the International Union of Elevator Constructors, Boy Scouts of America Assistant Scoutmaster & Troop Committee member, Camp Fire Boys & Girls, American Legion, and a VFW Member. He married his sweetheart, Sandra Lee Howard, on May 17, 1975 & together shared almost 40 years of marriage and raising a family. A longtime member of Crossroads Church, Jimmy loved and served the Lord, his family and others with all of his heart. During April of 1995, Jimmy bravely helped assist first responders during the search, rescue & life-saving efforts after the bombing at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. He was honored for his valiant efforts with the Award of Merit from the OK State Firefighters Assoc., an OK Governor's Commendation, Otis Elevator Special Award, and Appreciation Award & Letter from the General Services Admin. He will be deeply missed. He leaves behind his loving wife of 40 years, Sande Johnson of the home; parents, Jimmy & Irene Johnson; son Jimmy Johnson, III & wife, Vitalina; daughter, Aimee Henry & husband, Jason; 4 brothers: Oscar Johnson & wife, Cheryl Ann, Gilbert Johnson & wife, Carolyn, David Johnson & wife, Jo, and Kenneth Johnson & wife, Mary; sister, Katherine Steele & husband, Virgil; and many other loving family & friends.
