Jimmy Troy Jones, 85, passed from this life Sunday, September 27, 2026. He was born March 2, 1941, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma the son of Clarence Earl and Bertha Jewel (Guthrie) Jones. After graduating from Capitol Hill High School in 1959, Jimmy attended firefighters’ school at OSU, OKC. He joined the OKC Fire Department in 1965 and worked until his retirement, in 1994, as Chief. Jimmy earned a bachelor’s degree in fire and safety. Jimmy was an active member of the Retired Fire Fighter’s Association. He also enjoyed fishing and golf. Jimmy and his wife of 54 years, Carolyn, joined Southern Hills Baptist Church in 1987. His most valued time was spent with his family, especially his grandson, Boston Harris.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeff Mark Jones; sister and brother-in-law, Vada and Earl Gravitt; brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Helen Jones, brother and sister-in-law, Carlos and Bette Jones; sister and brother-in-law, Wava and Carl Price; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Max Lyons; sister, Sandra Jewel Jones; mother and father-in-law, Arthur Lee and Thelma Lorene (Piatt) Allen. He leaves cherished memories with his wife, Carolyn Jones; sons, Charles ‘Chuck’ Allen Harris, and Curtis Lance Harris and wife Molly; grandson, Boston Cole Harris and wife Jordan Z. Harris; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Synergy Home Health and Mercy Hospice for all the love and care they provided to Jimmy during his last days.
