Visitation will be Tuesday July 19, 2022 from 4-8 PM, and Wednesday July 20, 2022 from 4-8 PM with family greeting friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday July 21, 2022 at the South Lakes Chapel. (4000 SW 119th St)
Jimmy R. Vanzant, 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior on the morning of July 16, 2022. He was born on August 30, 1941 in Bromide, OK where he spent the majority of his youth. After graduating from Bromide High School in 1958, Jimmy enlisted in the United States Navy where he served 3 years until his honorable discharge in 1965. On January 3, 1970, Jimmy married the love of his life Margaret Jean Adam. The two established their family in Oklahoma City where he worked as a Heating and Air Specialist and was a member of the local Plumbers & Pipefitters Union. In his free time, Jimmy enjoyed working with his hands, building things, gardening, reading books on politics, and he was a huge history buff. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grand kids. He will be forever missed by those he leaves behind.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Neoma Gregory; brother, Thomas Vanzant; and sister, Margaret Reeder.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Margaret Vanzant; son, Thomas Vanzant; daughter, Sharon Bryson & husband, Brent Bryson; grandchildren, Mariah Vanzant, Tyler Bryson & his wife Brooklynn, Kaile Vanzant, & Alayna Bryson; his brother; Wayne Vanzant, as well as many extended family & friends.
