Jimmy Charles Venable, 87, passed away June 14, 2022 in Edmond, Oklahoma. He was born February 5, 1935 in St. Anthony's Hospital, OKC, OK to Golda May and William R. Venable, who raised him along with his sister, Mary Wanda Venable Hamilton. Jim graduated from Moore High School in 1952 and proceeded to college at Central State College in Edmond for 66 hours in Business Administration and Geology.
He was drafted into the U.S Army in March of 1957 and was discharged in 1959. He went on to Tulakes Aviation where he graduated in Aviation and got his commercial pilot's license. He loved his family above all. His sister Mary gave him the greatest gift when she married Bob Hamilton. Bob was a true brother instead of brother-in-law. Jim loved him very much. Plus, she gave him Dianne and Joe Dodson, their daughter Katherine and her husband Pat who live in Seattle; Robin and Rick Evans and their children Andy, Jennifer, Thomas and Caroline who live in Dallas; Robert and Andee Evans and their son Preston Tinsley Evans who live in Houston. He also loved his grandparents, Charles and Mary Ellen Jackson that helped raise him as well as his aunt and uncle Pernie and Orville Foster. They were such a blessing to him. Jim was also very close to his aunt Hazel and uncle Rhodes Burrows and their children, Jack, Ann, and John Burrows. Jim had a circle of genuine, lifelong friendships and a loving and devoted family. He will be greatly missed by those who valued his gentle nature and good humor. Jim had a sparkle in his eye and tenderness of heart.
Preceded in death by his: parents and wife, Barbara Venable. Jim leaves cherished memories with his daughter, Tami U'Ren and her husband, Gary; son, Robert Charles Venable and his wife, Brenda; grandchildren, Amy Huddleston; Ashly Kiselicka and her husband Luke; great grandchildren Austin, Dane and Beckett Kiselicka, Tatun Fick and her husband Jay, Braden, Riley and Parker Fick; stepsons, Trey Dorsey and his wife Wanda; Tim Dorsey and his wife Tracey; step-grandchildren, Cydney and Megan Dorsey, Cydney's great granddaughter, Savannah, and Timmie Jan; as well as Lisa Mathis and her children, Brandon Stephenson and Drew Dorsey.
Services to honor his life will be 11 AM Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the Vondel Smith North Colonial Chapel (13125 N. MacArthur Blvd) with viewing and visitation 1 hour prior to service.
