IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jo Ann
Gilstrap
March 30, 1930 – August 25, 2025
Our beloved mother, Jo Ann "MoMo" Gilstrap, age 95, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, went to be with Jesus on August 25, 2025.
Jo Ann was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jess Lawrence "Bill" Bishop and Rose Belle Clark Bishop. She graduated from Capitol Hill High School and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was centered on faith, family, and love.
Alongside her husband, Jo Ann was the proud co-owner of Inland Machine & Welding Co., which they established in 1969. Through hard work and dedication, they built not only a business but also lasting relationships within their community. Jo Ann was also a longtime member of the Oklahoma City Petroleum Club and the Willow Creek Golf & Country Club, where she made many friendships. An avid golfer, she and Benny especially enjoyed their later years spending winters in Sun City West, Arizona, where they played golf and embraced the desert sunshine with friends.
Faith was an important part of Jo Ann's life. She and Benny attended First United Methodist Church in Moore, Oklahoma, for many years, and in her later years she was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherri Swindle, Kathy Stapp and husband Ray, and Karla Royer and husband John. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Krista Cravens and husband Tim, Jill Swindle, Chance Stapp and wife Michelle, Alex Royer and wife Christina, and Seth Royer and wife Grace. Jo Ann's legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Dylan Vaughn, Tyler Vaughn and wife Carli, Hannah Stapp, Mackenzie Stapp, Wyatt Royer, Bennett Royer, and Calvin Royer. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Reba Lawson.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Benny Joe Gilstrap; her second husband, David R. Fike; her sisters, Lois Knowles, Thelma Eatmon, and Norma Ruth McIntire; her sister-in-law, Joyce Jennings and her son-in-law, Mike Swindle.
