Joan was born August 14, 1960 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Charlie & Helen (Vallery) Chivers. She was raised in Dillard, Oklahoma along with her siblings Charlie, Janice, Mike, and Patty. She graduated from Wilson High School in 1978. Joan married the love of her life, Kevin Keenan, on June 27, 1981 in Ardmore, OK at Brady Chapel. They were blessed with two daughters, Ashley and Charley. Joan was a wonderful wife and mother. She loved her husband and daughters dearly. When the girls were younger, Joan enjoyed being a stay at home mom, being involved in the girls' school as a homeroom mom, and making any birthday cake you could dream up for the girls. She and Kevin made many wonderful memories traveling the country side with their motorcycle friends. Some of their favorite trips were to Estes Park Colorado and Port Aransas Texas for the Texas Sand Art Festival. As the years passed, Joan was blessed with grandchildren, which brought so much joy into her life. She enjoyed raising her children but not as much as she did spoiling her grandkids and Cisco, her faithful chihuahua. Over all family was at the top of her list. Joan and Kevin were faithful members at Southern Ridge Church of Christ in Oklahoma City where she loved working in the baby room with her best friend Terri. For many years, Joan worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Kyle Leisher. She made great memories, many friendships and took great care of countless patients during her time with Dr. Leisher's office. Some of Joan's favorite times were holidays and having all the family together. Joan will always be remembered for her love of her family and dog. She was always available to talk to about life's worries or just to pass time and catch up on things. Although she is no longer here on this earth, her legacy will live on through her loving family. She was preceded in death by her: Parents, Charlie & Helen (Vallery) Chivers; Brother, Mike Chivers. She is survived by her: Husband of 40 years, Kevin of the home; Daughter, Ashley Mills and husband Richard of Oklahoma City; Daughter, Charley Miller and husband David of Oklahoma City Brother, Charlie Eynon Chivers III and wife, Beverly of Ardmore; Sisters, Janice Chivers of Oklahoma City, Patty Loveless and husband, Gordon of Oklahoma City; 5 Grandchildren: Chloe, Jake, Noah, Lily, and Ada; And several nieces and nephews.
