1 / 2
We honor the life of Joe Dale Starwalt Jr of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, who passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at the age of 67. Joe was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma on December 26, 1957 to Joe Dale Starwalt Sr and Wilma Arlene (Cradduck) Jeskey.
Joe graduated from Southeast High School in 1976. Shortly after, he enlisted and proudly served in the United States Navy from 1976 to 1980. Joe went onto join a life of civil service, working for Tinker Air Force Base beginning in July 1982. In his time working for 38 years at Tinker, Joe had numerous titles, accommodations, and educational achievements. He held a Master of Science in Aerospace Administration and Logistics from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with emphasis in Administrative Leadership. He also graduated from Squadron Officers School.
Joe lived a rich and meaningful life, filled with hobbies. He enjoyed long walks in the woods with his dogs, often covering miles at a time. He was a proud and devoted father, always there to support his daughters at their basketball and soccer games throughout their school years. A creative and innovative engineer, Joe loved to build and tinker at home, always adding his own unique touch to every project. He also enjoyed collecting mint silver coins. Joe had a generous heart and a welcoming spirit. He was known for opening his home to others, treating everyone like family and offering support whenever it was needed.
More than anything, Joe was a family man. He was a loving husband, a dedicated father, and a constant source of strength and support. His love for his wife, Amanda, was unwavering, and he took great pride in providing for and protecting his family.
Left to treasure his memory are his wife, Amanda F Starwalt; two daughters, Sarah Starwalt with her fiancé Kyle Batman, and Jennifer (Starwalt) Butzlaff with her husband Cole Butzlaff; his brother Richard Starwalt; and his canine child Buttons. Joe is preceded in death by his father, Joe Dale Starwalt Sr; his mother, Wilma Arlene Jeskey, and 3 canine children: Jake, Bailey, and Ruby Starwalt.
