SHANKLE, Joel "Jay", beloved father, brother, son, and grandfather, passed away on April 1, 2009 from heart disease. He was born in 1942 in Shamrock, TX. His true love in life was always music, and he shared his gifts with the world as a disc jockey in Sherman-Denison and Wichita Falls, TX, Wichita, KS, and OKC. Jay is survived by his children, Amanda Shankle-Knowlton and Jayson Shankle, and by granddaughter, Emerson. He is also survived by his brother, Gary and Gary's children, Amber Drennen and Clint Shankle. He will be missed for his quick wit and devotion to his children. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Friday, April 17, 2009 at the South Colonial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
