IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joetta Mae
Wiewel
July 25, 1939 – October 20, 2025
Joetta "Jody" Wiewel, wife of the late Paul Wiewel, and daughter of the late Joesph and Agnes Linhart, passed away peacefully with family on October 20, 2025.
Jody was born on July 25, 1939, in Bison, Oklahoma, to Joe and Agnes Linhart. She was raised in a home filled with love, laughter, and the close companionship of her sister and lifelong best friend, Suzie Collins. Jody married Paul on August 19, 1958 and together they shared 56 years of marriage and were blessed with three children; Marsha Wiewel Gimlin, Randy Wiewel and Rebecca Redwine. Jody will be remembered for the countless ways she poured her love into everything she did. A gifted cook and baker, her kolaches, cinnamon rolls, pies and fried chicken were family treasures that turned ordinary days into cherished memories.
She had a natural gift with her hands — crocheting blankets, booties, scarves, hats, and her beloved hanger covers, sewing her children and grandchildren's clothes by hand, and quilting beautiful keepsakes that will be treasured for generations. She had a gift for bringing life to the soil. Every season her yard burst with color and warmth. What made her garden truly special was the joy she poured into it. It truly was her peaceful place, her pride, and a beautiful piece of Okarche that will always remind us of her gentle hands and nurturing soul. Music was another great joy in her life- Jody and Paul often spent their Friday nights at the Old Czech Hall in Yukon, OK polka dancing their nights away. She also played the piano, organ, saxophone and accordion. Her heart was as generous as her talents, and she lived a life centered on love, family, and the simple pleasures that made every day special.
She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and devotion that will continue to inspire everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Agnes Linhart; her husband, Paul Wiewel; her son, Randall Wiewel; and her sister, Suzie Collins. She is survived by her daughters Marsha Wiewel-Gimlin, and Rebecca Redwine; her grandchildren Brittney Saunders and husband Miller Saunders, Chance Gimlin and spouse Kylea Kahrs, Shanda Alig, Ashley Landeros and husband Mario Landeros, and Austin Redwine and wife Jennifer Redwine; and her great-grandchildren Hannah Landeros, Kambria Landeros, Kimberlyn Landeros, Emery Landeros, Paisley Landeros, Ryatt Saunders, Milly Saunders, Truby Saunders, Roan Gimlin, Hudson Gimlin, Caden Redwine, Caysen Redwine and Eva Sirera.
In lieu of flowers the family has chosen two charities. St. Jude Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Special Olympics 2600 Virginia Avenue NW, 11th Floor Washington, DC 20037.
