John Kenneth Adams was born July 18, 1941 in Shawnee, OK the son of Kenneth and Juanita Adams. He completed this life on May 7, 2021. His birth announcement was written at the kitchen table by his father and then U.S. Congressman Tom Steed. The family moved to Oklahoma City in 1942. John attended West Nichols Hills grade school, John Marshall Jr. and Sr. High School and graduated from Oklahoma University in 1963. He began the first of many careers, first as an advertising copy writer, then a men's clothing store owner, publisher of local trade journals, owner of Speedpress Printing and for the last 20 years of his career, a real estate appraiser.
John liked listening to Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. He enjoyed golf and was proud of his hole-in-one and also a 73 round at the Greens Country Club. He fulfilled his military obligation as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy.
"If I had it to do over again, one thing I would change for sure. I wouldn't just say I was a Christian, I would act like one from the getgo instead of waiting until I was 50!"
He is survived by his beautiful wife, Carol and their beloved blended family, Amy Oleinick, Noah and Traci Adams, Jesse and Lora Adams, Mark and Lynne Davis and Damon and Lesli Davis; his grandchildren, Naomi, Noelle, Brayden, Jaxon, Annee, Piper, Ryan and Finn; and a great grandson, Jack. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Lou Wright.
A memorial service will be held 11:00am Saturday , May 15th at Vondel Smith Mortuary North Chapel, 13125 N. MacArthur Blvd.
