John Kenneth Bowles Sr. died Feb 8, 2015. He was born March 20, 1928 in Atlanta, Ga. The day after he graduated from high school he enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed at Kessler Air Force Base. Upon discharge, he came to Oklahoma City University, where he received a bachelor's degree in business. He worked for the Air National Guard and later transferred to the Air Force Reserves at Tinker Air Force Base, where he retired in 1988 as a financial analyst. John was active at First Baptist Church, Okla. City, where he served in the children's and youth areas, as a deacon and on several committees. He loved snow skiing with his friends and family, going to the lake and was a charter member of the Grey Eagles. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Billie Jean Davis Bowles. He is survived by his children and spouses, John (Deborah), Bill (Paula), and Cathy Carter (Bob); grandchildren Ryan (Karen) Bowles, Joshua (Alexia) Bowles, Elizabeth (Keith) Peters, Allison Bowles, Todd (Sandra) Carter, and Calee (Scott) Kober, great grandchildren, Will & Katie Peters, Isabella Carter due in March. Viewing will be 4-8 PM Tuesday with the family receiving guests from 6-8 pm at Vondel Smith South. Services will be 10 a.m. Wed, Feb 11, 2015 at First Baptist Church of OKC, 1201 N Robinson.
