John Regis Knight, born September 24, 1935 in Connellsville, PA, passed away November 19, 2009. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years. He was a physics teacher at Putnam City High School in Oklahoma City for 25 years. After retirement, he volunteered at Rosary School, St. Anthony Hospital, and St. Vincent de Paul. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Rita Buettner Knight; children Kathy Knight and longtime family friend Marti Johnson, Stillwater, OK; Linda Hamilton and husband Jack,
Todos Santos, B.C.S., Mexico; Karen Gallagher and husband Tom, Tampa, FL; Janet Knight and Robert Chico, New York City, NY; John A. Knight and wife Stephanie, Portland, OR; and 7 grandchildren. The family would like to thank the nurses in CCU of Deaconess Hospital, and the doctors who provided compassionate care for John. Services will be held at 9:30 am Saturday, November 2l at St. Joseph's Cathedral in Oklahoma City. ln lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to: St. Joseph's Old Cathedral or Oklahoma Medical Research.
