Obituary

John Calvin Lacy, Jr., 61, of Edmond, OK, passed away at home on January 26, 2022, after a long and heroic battle with Crohn's disease.

John was born on July 7, 1960 the son of Elizabeth Anne Loftis and John Calvin Lacy, Sr. in Shawnee, Oklahoma. After John graduated from Putnam City High School in Oklahoma City, he studied Business at the University of Tulsa and then graduated from The University of Central Oklahoma in 1983 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

While still in college, John kick started his 40+ year career in Information Technology. After graduation, he worked in a progressive series of IT roles, leading him to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). John worked as a computer specialist and ultimately as an FAA Database Administrator at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City. John's last day of his 35-year FAA career was the day he left to join the angels at the heavenly network in the skies.

On October 26, 1985, John married the love of his life, Vickie Sue Hanneld in Oklahoma City. John and Vickie went on to have two wonderful sons, Greg and Geoff.

John was preceded in death by his father, John Calvin Lacy, Sr., mother, Elizabeth Anne Loftis Wall, grandfather, Dewey E. Loftis, Sr., grandmother, Bernice Loftis, uncle, Dewey E. Loftis, Jr.

John is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Vickie Lacy of the home, his son Gregory Lacy and his fiancé, Lauren of OKC, son Geoffrey Lacy and his wife, Baylee Lacy of Edmond, OK, his daughter-in-love, Szandi Peter of Budapest, Hungary, sister Cindy Lacy of Oklahoma City, and cousins Yalonda Loftis Silberman, of Yukon, OK & Mark Loftis, Norman.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 30th at the Vondel Smith Mortuary North, 13125 N. MacArthur Blvd.

Memorial service will be 10:00 AM Monday, January 31, 2022 at Church of the Servant. Interment will be at 2:00 PM at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee, OK.
