John went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at the age of 79. John is the son of JR & Cleta (Traxler) Sandford, and was born in Chickasha, OK on December 9, 1944, a part of the Silent Generation. He graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1962 and from Central State College in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and Management. He retired from 33 years of Civil Service at Tinker Air Force Base in 2000. In 1964, John met his buddy's sister, Judith R. Newman, and a lifetime romance began, culminating in marriage on June 2, 1967, lasting 57 years. To this union, 2 precious children were born; John Reginald Paul II, and Jayne Rebecca Paul Dickson, who together blessed John and Judith with 7 beautiful grandchildren.

John is survived by his wife, Judith, son John & wife Johna, of Mustang, grandchildren: Jared, Kendall & wife Maloree, Gabe, Moriah and Caleb Paul; daughter Jayne & husband Scott Dickson, of Tuttle, grandchildren Kate & Matt Dickson; John's brother, Mike Paul & wife Florence; brothers-in-law Happy Newman & wife Jan, and Bobby Newman & wife Carolyn, as well as numerous relatives, church family, and friends. John accepted Christ at the age of 17 and was baptized at Snow Hill Baptist Church in 1976 where he was an active member until his death. He began serving as a Deacon in 2012, and participated in Sunday School, VBS, Building Projects, Men's Ministry and the Food Pantry. He will be forever remembered and always in our hearts.
