John Allen Standerfer, Sr., 74, passed from this life on August 17, 2021. He was born on March 17, 1947. He was the first son of Charles Standerfer and Lanor (Cavnar) Standerfer in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. John graduated from Moore High School in 1965 and soon married Donna Drake on July 29, 1966. Shortly after his wedding, John joined the USMC, serving at Cherry Point, North Carolina. Upon completing his service, they moved back to Oklahoma City and John worked at Tinker Air Force Base as a civilian employee. He then started his own landscaping company, which led him to a successful thirty year career in the real estate business. He was a loving husband, supportive father, and proud grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years; sons John, Jr. and wife Elizabeth, Joseph and wife Sherry; grandchildren, Katherine, Luke, and Kamrie; brothers Jim, Steve and wife Sherry; sisters, Suzanne Terry, and Sandra Graham. Family will receive friends Thursday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home. Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, August 20, 2021 at the South Colonial Chapel.
