Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Vondel Smith & Son Funeral Chapel, 6934 S. Western Ave, Oklahoma City, OK. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, 500 SW 104th Oklahoma City, OK .

Joy M. Allen Hays, 86, of Plainview, formerly of Oklahoma City, OK , passed away Monday, September 28, 2015. Joy was born April 18, 1929 in Ringling, OK to Martin Luther and Nina Alice (Reynolds) Allen. She graduated from high school from Ringling High School and attended Business College. She lived in Oklahoma City for 50 years before moving to Plainview, Texas. In 1948, Joy married Fred R. Hays in Ardmore, OK and they were married for over 55 years until his passing in 2003. Joy enjoyed a career as a bookkeeper for many years. She was a strong Christian and attended Brookwood Baptist Church in Oklahoma City and attended College Heights Baptist Church in Plainview. Joy enjoyed gardening, music, singing in the church choir and she loved being a grandmother. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Fred; her parents and 10 siblings.Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Newsom of Plainview and Elaine Rains and husband Hugh of Nashville, TN; 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Nell Crabb of Oklahoma City.
