Obituary

Judy Lynn (Filtz) Smith October 4, 1951 - April 24, 2021 Judy went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday April 24, 2021. Judy was born October 4, 1951 on the family farm in Orlando, Oklahoma to Harlan and Claudine (Harbison) Filtz. Judy was raised in Orlando, OK with her brother, Robert and sister, Marcia. They all helped out on the farm while they were growing up and made fond memories together while learning about farm life. In school, Judy excelled in academics, and barrel racing. She attended Orlando High School and graduated in 1969. Judy moved to Moore in the early 1970's to start her life. Judy enjoyed bowling with her friends on the weekends, and while participating in a league, she met Derrell Smith. The two formed a close bond and after a short engagement they were married on Aug. 30, 1975 in Moore, OK. Judy was blessed with two sons Rebel and Sky, and a step daughter Laurie. Derrell and Judy raised their family in Moore and they attended Crossroad's Cathedral Church for many years. Derrell owned and operated Smith Welding, and in addition to being a wonderful homemaker, wife & mother, Judy worked as a bookkeeper for Derrell's company. Years later Judy also worked for AT&T as a customer service representative. Aside from work, Judy had a lot of favorite things to do. She and Derrell bowled together for many years. Judy loved to collect hummingbird artwork, figurines and jewelry. She also loved to spend time with her parents and her friends. They would go get together to play card games or dominoes and she and her friends took many trips to Branson, Missouri together. Judy made sure she had strong bonds with her family and friends. When Derrell passed in October of 2000, she had a great network of loved ones that helped her to stay positive and cope with the loss. Judy had started a new chapter in her life, and through that journey, she formed a friendship and eventually companionship with Rawley Duntley. He brought a light back into her life and even got her involved in a new hobby. Rawley worked was involved with a local rodeo and Judy would accompany him. Rawley would announce at the rodeo and Judy ran the equipment in the sound booth. They made some unforgettable memories at the rodeo as well as some great friends. Anyone that knew Judy was aware of her meticulous attention to detail when it came to her hair, make-up, nails and fashionable outfit selection. Being fashionably late was also one of her most well-known traits. Judy is now in a place where she's waiting on all of us to arrive AND her appearance is no less than perfect. Her presence will be missed but she will always be remembered by those she leaves behind. Judy was preceded in death by her: Husband, Derrell; Father, Harlan; Sister, Marcia Dee Wooden; Brother, Harlan Dean; Daughter, Laurie Barnicoat. Judy is survived by her: Son, Rebel and wife Deanna; Son, Sky Smith; Mother, Claudine Filtz; Brother, Robert Filtz and wife Linda; Companion Rawley Duntley; Granddaughter, Audra Chiles and husband Josh; Granddaughter, Summer Morgan; Granddaughter, Bethanie Martinez and husband Samuel; 2 Great Grandchildren, Eva and Samson The family would like to say a special thanks to Rawley Duntley and Cynthia Praefke (Deanna's mother) for their help and special care during Judy's illness.
