Vondel Smith Mortuary South Lakes Chapel

June B. Griffeth, 87, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2015. She was born in Bristow, OK to Matt and Margaret (Devenney) Baker on June 18, 1928. She will be deeply missed. June leaves behind her son, David Griffeth; daughter, Debra Lockwood and husband Paul; grandchildren, Lauren Albright and husband Trey & Allison Lockwood; great grandchildren, Layne and Trevor Albright and many loving family and friends. Viewing will be at the funeral home from 4-8 PM on January 1, 2016. Funeral services will be held at Vondel Smith's South Lakes Chapel, 4000 SW 119th, OKC, on January 2, 2016 at 10 AM with burial at 2:00 PM held at Fairlawn Cemetery, Cushing, OK.

June was a devoted public servant through her teaching career, volunteering and charitable giving. Her efforts were concentrated on the needs of others providing assistance and comfort where she was able.

Her teaching career was largely spent with the Oklahoma City Public School System. From that time, many great and lasting friendships followed her through the rest of her life.

After her teaching career, she spent her time enjoying her family, many friends and activities. During this time, she volunteered at Integris Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City becoming an honorary and life time volunteer member.

She was a member of Hillcrest Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City. Her church provided her a spiritual life family that was very special to her. Her volunteer efforts with her church included providing time to The Presbyterian Urban Mission and The Oklahoma Regional Food Bank both located in Oklahoma City.

Her family and many friends will miss her spirit and dedication to the betterment of each and every person's life she touched.
