Obituary

Family & friends will gather at the graveside for memorial services and to celebrate Karen's life on Friday, August 13, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. at the San Jacinto Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 14659 East Freeway, Houston, TX 77015

Karen Beth Carter (Clark), 64, of Baytown, Texas, went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 6, 2021, in Oklahoma City, OK. Karen was born November 16, 1956, to James and Ruth Clark, at Baytown, Texas.

She grew up in Baytown and graduated from Deer Park High School. Karen loved sales and decorating and enjoyed her work with Hotels in Longview, Texas. There she excelled at Commercial Sales and re-decorating the hotel's main lobby, dining areas and business suites. Later she would excel at sales and design again at her own business, Bjon Candle Company in Ore City, Texas.

Karen loved working with children and adults at her church. She played the piano for many years at Community Church of God for her church family. In recent years she enjoyed being a caregiver for family members and was depended upon by many. Karen was especially proud of her grandchildren and great granddaughter. She loved meeting people and was dearly loved and admired by a host of friends and family.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ruth Clark, three sisters, Iris Bond, Faye Hand, and Patsy Rector.

She is survived by her daughter, Jody Golemon and husband Josh of Fort Carson, CO;

Son, Will Wardlaw of Garland, TX;

Stepson, Josh Carter of Livingston, TX;

Stepdaughter, Kelli Murphy and husband Curtis Murphy of The Woodlands, TX;

Jordan and Zachary Al-Hazaimeh whom she loved as sons;

Brother Jim Clark and wife Marilyn of Yuba City, CA;

Sister, Jenny Phillips and husband Bill of Oklahoma City, OK;

Grandsons, Killian Golemon, Chandler Murphy, Korban Wardlaw, Parker Golemon, Dylan Golemon, and Carter Murphy;

Granddaughters, Haleigh Golemon, Hayden Murphy, Reese Murphy, and Payton Wardlaw;

and one great-granddaughter Kennedy Matu'u and many nieces, nephews, and beloved cousins.
