Karen Inez (Hazen) Martin, 54, passed from this life July 7, 2011. Karen wrote, "If you are reading this, my battle with cancer is finished. At first glance you may have thought that I've lost the battle but I have won, for you see I have joined my family that is now in heaven and I am no longer in pain or suffering. I was born Karen Inez Hazen (now Martin) on July 24, 1956 in Chandler, OK. My father was Joe Hazen and my mother Carmen Tunnell. I had one brother, Jodie Hazen, who preceded me in death, and one sister, JoAnn and Don Johnson of Choctaw, nicknamed Sisser. I have three children that survived me; our son, Kevin and Stacy Clarkson of San Antonio, and daughters, Gina and Mike Lindsey of OKC, and Kayce and Camron Coffman of OKC. My grandchildren include Conner and Rylee Clarkson and Ethen Lindsey. God sent me the love of my life and my soul mate Jack. We were married on September 14, 1996 (Holy Cross Day). What a wonderful feeling to marry your best friend. We continued to make beautiful memories together until my passing. I will miss you all, my family, our children, our grandchildren, Sisser, Sis, nieces, nephews, friends and most of all Jack. Remember, I am just a thought away. I love you all so much! Most of my career was at Tinker AFB from 1986 to present. I was an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Program Management Assistant for the base. When not at work I loved traveling, the peace and tranquility of our yard, our antique booth at the RINK Gallery, decorating and Christmas. Some of my favorite things were going to the Arts Festival, the OKC Philharmonic and Pops Concerts, the smell of roses and Hyacinth's, Mama's dressing and enchiladas, but most of all Christmas when our family was all together. Remember to please continue the traditions that you were raised with. Always remember the many trees and decorations, gingerbread houses and baking goodies that we did. Do not cry, but remember the great times we had and that I look forward to seeing you all someday. Treasure each and every moment, Rise and Shine in the mornings to the wonders of the world and be sure to remember that life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away. Know that I write this with the deepest of love in my heart for you all. I love you all, Mama, Granny, Karen and your wife always".
