IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kathy Lou
Stockman
May 3, 1950 – November 10, 2023
Kathy Stockman, passed away Friday, November 10th, 2023, in Oklahoma City, with her family by her side.
Kathy was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on May 3, 1950 and was raised in Crown Heights. As a young girl, Kathy enjoyed her dog "Brownie" and playing outside with her near life-long best friend, Luanne, and loved softball. She graduated from Harding High school in 1968 and following graduation attended business school in OKC.
Kathy began her career working for Kerr-Mcgee and after a couple years she took a job working for the City of Oklahoma City. Her job with the City led her to a 30 year career with the Oklahoma City Police Department. She worked for the OCPD in administration throughout different departments, and her last 12 years she worked in the Narcotics Special Projects department. She made many great friends and memories during her time with the OCPD.
Kathy met the love of her life, William L. Stockman, in 1977 and the two married in OKC on October 8, 1977. They were blessed with two children, Amy Nicole and Matthew Grant. Kathy was a loving and devoted wife, Momma, NaNa, Sister, Aunt and daughter. To Kathy, family was her treasure. Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family more than anything. She and her family loved spending time in Savannah, Georgia and made a couple family trips there. Kathy and her family were longtime members at Southpark Baptist Church in OKC and made a strong bond with their church family over the years.
In her spare time, Kathy liked to play Skip Bo and Solitaire. She also knew every episode of Golden Girls like the back of her hand, and loved to watch the show with her family, and was an avid OU football and softball fan. You could catch her every Saturday during the Fall watching OU football and texting with her sister about the game. Her favorite season was Fall and everything that came along with it; the changing foliage, crisp air and holiday season. Above all, family was at the top of her list. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest accomplishments.
Although Kathy is no longer here on this earth, she will always be remembered for her love and devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
