IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth Leon
Price
November 23, 1946 – December 16, 2024
Kenneth Leon Price, passed away at his home in Oklahoma City on December 15, 2024.
He was born November 23, 1946 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Edysol Bryan Price and Oleta Fay (Buffaloe) Price.
Kenneth was raised in South OKC alongside his 3 brothers, Ronnie, Monte Joe and Douglas. Kenneth loved classic cars and in his teens he enjoyed cruising around with his friends Kenneth attended Capitol Hill High School and made lifelong friends with countless classmates, whom he stayed in touch with over the years. In High School Kenneth worked as a grocery store sacker and also in the produce department. In 1965 he graduated from Capitol Hill and shortly after, he met Freddie-Marie Vanoni while at a local favorite drive-in diner called "The Spot" in Oklahoma City. Their relationship soon blossomed and the two were engaged. They were married in Oklahoma City on March 14, 1966 and they were blessed with their daughter Cynthia.
Kenneth was drafted into the United States Army in May 2, 1966. He was sent to Vietnam, leaving his wife and one month old daughter at home. He served as a helicopter door gunner and later became a sharpshooter. Kenneth was wounded twice, and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star, which were both issued on the same day. Kenneth was honorably discharged in May of 1968 and was overjoyed to return to his family.
Kenneth was a hard worker; he worked at Tinker Air Force Base as a Jet Engine Mechanic for over 20 years. He made many long lasting friendships during his time at TAFB and still kept up with some of his co-workers.
Kenneth and Freddie-Marie loved to travel and spend almost all of their free time with family. They traveled all over the US and put 2 motor homes to very good use. Kenneth and Freddie-Marie traveled to numerous tropical islands and enjoyed experiencing the beautiful sunsets together. Family was very important to both Kenneth and Freddie-Marie, and they were always happy to include their family in many of their trips on the open road. Kenneth had many hobbies, but he really liked going to see the custom conversion vans at car shows. He was a member of a conversion van club in OKC and was heavily involved with that. Kenneth even made some of his own custom conversions to his vans, which he was very proud of. Above all, his grandchildren were his favorite hobby. Kenneth and Freddie-Marie made many lasting memories with all their family members, whether they were sitting at the house talking, at the ballpark, running errands or on an outing for a special occasion, they always made our time with them together meaningful.
