IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth Dean
Weir
June 29, 1942 – January 1, 2024
Kenneth Dean Weir
June 29, 1942 ~ January 1, 2024
Kenneth Dean Weir, born June 29, 1942, left this Earth January 1, 2024. With his family by his side, he was comforted by their love. Ken was born in Wichita, KS to John and Twyla Weir. Soon after graduating from Northeast High School in Oklahoma City, he started his family and started working with his father in their family-owned grocery store. It didn't take long for Ken to branch out on his own and start his own grocery store, Ken's Discount Food City, in South Oklahoma City. During this time, when Ken wasn't working day and night at the grocery store, he was racing stock cars at many racetracks around Oklahoma. The ultimate salesman, Ken had many successful business ventures, but his greatest joy was his family. The most proud and patient father, he never said no, whether it was traveling for speed skating or playing a game at home. Though he was always busy working he always put his children and grandchildren as a top priority with his unconditional love. Ken was preceded in death by his Mom and Dad. He is survived by his wife Jan, and his 4 children: Son, Kurt Weir, MD and wife Emily; Daughter, Kalyn Drew and husband Kyle; Daughter, Krissy Woodruff and husband, Chris, all of Oklahoma City; and daughter Kim Smith and husband Bill of Corinth, TX; 2 step daughters; Heather Snider and husband Pepper of Frisco, TX and Angela Spindle and husband David of Oklahoma City, OK; brother John Weir of San Anselmo, CA and his children Chris Weir and Leslie Weir; 7 grandchildren born of his children: Lauren Davis and Lindsey Weir, Carson Drew, Blake Smith and Katie Smith, Peyton Woodruff and Bryce Woodruff; 8 grandchildren by marriage: Margaret Elle and Millie McCann, Jeff Smith, Madison Woodruff, Blake, Zach, Pepper Jr and Kallie Snider; and 3 great grandchildren: Jordan and Jackson Davis and Blakely Snider. Ken was loved and admired by countless friends, relatives and those he helped along the way. He will be greatly missed.
