Obituary

Kirk Douglas Young passed away on the morning of Sunday, March 29, 2026. He was born on June 14,1959 in Glendale, California to Douglas and Donna (Nicholas) Young. Kirk was raised in California and grew up loving to surf, ride motorcycles and bmx bikes in the mountains. He graduated from Sylmar high school in Sylmar California in 1977.

As a young adult, Kirk made the decision to join the Navy and serve his country. He made the move to Oklahoma in 1999. He was a hard worker and was a welder/fitter fabricator for most of his adult life. He Retired from W&W steel in 2020 and was enjoying his retirement spending time with family and working on his 1930 Model A.

Kirk was an active member of the NSRA (National Street Rod Association). He loved working on his hot rods and taking trips on his motorcycles. He loved and had many different types of vehicles throughout his life, Classics,Hotrods, Lowriders, Raised trucks, lowered trucks, vw bugs, sportbikes, and Harleys all that he built himself. He was very creative and extremely talented. He enjoyed drawing and playing with his dogs. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Teresa (Coffey) Young and his son, Jae Young; daughter, Lacey Sprouse; and step-daughter, Samantha Privett; as well as his mother Donna Young and his two sisters Kathy Mink and Teri Ward. He had 5 adoring grandchildren, Damien Sprouse, Lily Sprouse, Joshua Whipple, Charlie Yates, and Tommy Ross.

Kirk was a very generous person who loved to help people he has touched many lives and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Services to be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 25,2026 at Vondel L Smith & Son NORTH Chapel, 13125 N MacArthur Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73142. The services will also be livestreamed.
