Kymala Beth Carrier, a vibrant soul who touched the lives of many, passed away on Friday, August 16th, 2024, in Oklahoma City after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Born on July 22, 1957, in Oklahoma City, Kym grew up in various places, including Cordell, OK, Cloud Chief, OK, and Scottsdale, AZ. When she was 12 or so, her family moved back to Oklahoma City, where she graduated from Western Heights High School in 1975.

Kym's journey took her from being a teller at Central Bank in Downtown Oklahoma City to pursuing her true passion: law. She met Ed Carrier, Jr. and they married on June 20, 1980. Together, they raised three children: Trey, Carson, and Morgan.

A devoted mother, Kym balanced homemaking with occasional work at Ed's law firm, White & Carrier. With three young children, she made the bold decision to return to school, earning her Law Degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1998. Kym's legal career flourished at McAfee & Taft, where she specialized in corporate law. Her pro bono work exemplified her compassion for others.

In 2017, Kym retired, dedicating her time to her children and grandchildren. She cherished family gatherings, sipped good Scotch, cheered for OU Football, and basked by the pool with a Corona in hand listening to Jimmy Buffett and Elvis tunes. She never turned down a trip to Las Vegas where she could be found at the blackjack tables at any time of day or night.

She met her significant other and devoted partner of 16 years, Britt Willis, in 2008. They enjoyed traveling to Key West, motorcycle rides all over Oklahoma, and being on the waters of Lake Texoma with family. Britt often spent weekends working tirelessly to beautify the landscaping of Kym's dream home in Quail Creek while she supervised from a pool float, usually with a beer or coffee in hand. He remained faithfully by her side to the very end.

Kym was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Hazel (Rhodes) Emerson; her son, Trey Carrier and his wife, Beth; her former husband, Ed Carrier, Jr.; her brother, Jerry Emerson; her sisters, Patsy Boortz and Linda Chancellor.

Surviving Kym are her son, Carson Carrier, and his wife Courtney of Oklahoma City; her daughter, Morgan Carrier of Oklahoma City; her four cherished grandchildren: Kamber, Kymbree, Kason, and Levi; her significant other, Britt Willis of Oklahoma City. She also leaves behind a circle of loving friends and extended family.

Kym's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew her. May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration.

A special thank you to Keri, Kym's hospice nurse, and Amanda at Legend Memory Care for their care in Kym's final weeks.
