LaDema Sue Dodson, age 72, passed away peacefully at home on September 15, 2024, after fighting cancer for almost three years. She was born June 18, 1952 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. She married her husband of 41 years, David Dodson, on Valentine's Day in 1983.

Lovingly referred to as Mom and Nana, Sue was the definition of devotion. She worked hard and filled her days with family. She especially loved her role as Nana, embracing every moment with her grandchildren. She was skilled at holding a conversation and was known for making a friend wherever she went. She was the heart of our family, and she will be dearly missed.

These verses from Proverbs chapter 31 describe her best:

" A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life…

She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:

"Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."

Sue is survived by her husband David Dodson, daughter Shelley Sauter, husband Ross, son Mark Fenimore, wife Brandy, daughter Dacia Harris, husband Mike, and daughter Danae Waits, husband Luke. Her grandchildren: Ryan O'Hair (36) and wife Ashley, Jackson Fenimore (29), Briley Fenimore (19), Arlen Fenimore (11), Evan Fenimore (8), Jack Harris (11), Samuel Harris (7), Madelyn Waits (6), Everly Waits (4), and Lillian Waits (21 months). Her great-grandchildren: Braxton O'Hair (16), Alyvia O'Hair (11), Oliver O'Hair (10), and Amelia O'Hair (3).

Friends and family are invited to attend the celebration of Sue's life on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at South Lakes Chapel of Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary, 4000 SW 119th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73173.
