LaDonna Joyce (Curtis) VanHoozer, 79, passed away Friday, May 23, 2025 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

LaDonna was born in Oklahoma City on December 7, 1945 to John "Bodie" and Joy (Clark) Curtis. She was raised in OKC along with her brothers, Richard and Rickey. LaDonna graduated from Northwest Classen High School in 1964. In 1965 LaDonna married DeLoyd "DC" Cockrell and they were blessed with two children, Teri and Brent. LaDonna was a wonderful homemaker and mother. In 1986, LaDonna began her career as a hairstylist. She worked in salons in Del City and Midwest City for twenty years and made countless friends along the way.

LaDonna met her second husband, Darrell VanHoozer, in 1992. They married July 4, 1994 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma and lived in Harrah and then Newalla, Oklahoma for over 20 years. They both started a new chapter in their lives and found great joy together. Many years later Darrell became ill and he passed away in 2015.

LaDonna enjoyed movies, spending time with family and friends, and she loved cooking for everybody! She even made meals and delivered them to her neighbors while she was living in Newcastle.

LaDonna was known for her style and never left the house without her hair, makeup and outfit on point! She enjoyed helping others, being a caretaker, and truly had a servants heart. LaDonna will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her memory will live on through the lives she touched.

LaDonna was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell VanHoozer; Parents, John "Bodie" Curtis and Joy Pauline Curtis. Brothers, Rickey and Richard Curtis; Son, Brent Cockrell; Ex Husband, DC Cockrell; and an infant great-grandson, Ethan Boucher.

Survivors include her Daughter, Teri Downing and husband Brian; grandchildren, Bradley Downing and wife Kassidee, Ryan Downing and wife Carleigh, Alyssa Boucher and husband Carl, and Madelyn Cockrell; Eight great-grandchildren; Nieces, Dana (Dan) Gore, Dyan (Damien) Merrill, Carri (Mark) Ritz, Kim (Bill) Gibson; Nephew, Kevin Cockrell; As well as numerous extended family members and friends.
