IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Larry Gene
Eades
May 2, 1949 – April 22, 2025
Larry Gene Eades Sr., 75, of Oklahoma City, passed away peacefully at home on April 22, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
Larry was born on May 2, 1949, in Claremore, Oklahoma, and spent most of his life in Oklahoma City. He graduated from Harding High School in 1968. During and after high school, he worked in the family bakery alongside his dad, mom, and brothers — an experience that helped shape his strong work ethic and deep love for family. Before eventually becoming a long-haul truck driver, Larry also spent time behind the wheel as a taxi driver, always working hard to support those he loved.
He was a proud member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes.
Larry leaves behind his wife, Glenda Eades; his children, Tamatha Collins, Melissa Burnett, and Larry Eades Jr.; and his grandchildren, Hunter Collins, Paige Collins, Cameron Burnett, Mason Burnett, Isabella Burnett, and Douglas Gillis. He is also survived by his brother, Jim Eades, and sister, Marlene Glass.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Miles and Mildred Eades; his brother, Richard Eades; sister, Richenda Cochran; daughter, Kimberly Eades; and his grandson, Zachary Collins.
Larry loved a good Western, never missed an OU football or OKC Thunder game, and could spend hours playing cards with friends at the lake house. He showed up for the big and small moments in his grandkids' lives —especially when it came to cheering them on at their games.
He was easygoing, loyal, and always good for a laugh or a story. He'll be missed more than words can say.
A memorial service will be held at Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary (13125 N MacArthur Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73142) on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 2 PM, with a small reception to follow.
Flowers or greenery can be sent to the funeral home before the service.
