Obituary

Larry Leon "Luck" Lundy was born January 12th, 1950 in Weatherford, OK to Loyd Leon & Ruth Mae (Kaiser) Lundy. He passed away on September 17th, 2021 at the age of 71 years. He would also want us to mention 8 months and 5 days. Preceded in death by his parents and Step-sister Brenda Messenger.

Larry's parents provided a loving home centered around a strong work ethic, the foundation for Larry's drive to be the best. The Lundy boys' home was central to neighborhood baseball, football games and overall ruckus. As the eldest, Larry was the head peace keeper for all of the Cordell boys and helped with the City Little League. He graduated from Cordell High School in 1968.

Naturally gifted with numbers, Larry graduated from SWOSU with a double major in Business and Math in 1972. After meeting his future father-in-law at Montgomery Wards, Larry transitioned into sales with Willam Volker Flooring.

During his 40 plus years of traveling and building friendships throughout his award winning sales career in wholesale flooring, Larry never met a stranger and always had a joke for any possible situation.

Larry's favorite roll was as a loving and supportive father. Everyone in Larry's life knew how much he loves his two daughters. Medora Nelie Safai of Louisville Kentucky and Heather Dawn Lundy of Denver Colorado, Son-in-law, Mike Safai and Grandson, Colton Safai who have fond memories of Papa Luck's special pancakes, his infectious laugh, big hugs and watching and attending OU football games together. In fact his favorite places were Owen Field, Karsten Creek and Lumpy's on May Ave. Over the years, Larry would travel with friends to numerous OU Football games and other miscellaneous locals.

Larry's caring nature was exemplified almost daily. Never to be one to do anything in small amounts, he regularly would prepare some type of food spread for friends and family. He was always ready to help anyone, brother, friend, nieces and nephews. He opened his home and heart to all alike. His boisterous laugh and big heart will be deeply missed.

Larry is survived by his Step-mother, Laverne Lundy of Cordell, OK, his four brothers LeRoy Lundy, Ronnie Lundy, Randy Lundy, Gary Lundy and Sister-in-Law Traci Lundy. And of course, his two daughters, his favorite Son-in-law, Mike Safai and the love of his life, his grandson, Colton Safai as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
