Larry Reyes, 62 , passed away Friday, June 10th, 2022 in Oklahoma City. Larry was born January 15, 1960 in Waynoka, Oklahoma to Clyde and Rebecca (Zacarias) Reyes. Larry was raised in Waynoka, OK along with his brother Richard and Sister Bobbie Jo. Larry's family relocated to Moore, Oklahoma in 1972. He graduated from Moore high School in 1978.
In 1982 Larry obtained his Associate's Degree from Rose State College. After graduation he started working as a histotechnologist with the VA Hospital and worked for them until 1986. After that, he worked for Baptist Hospital, Deaconess Hospital for 24 years, and has worked at Ameripath in the same capacity since 2014. He recently accepted and became the night shift Supervisor. Larry made many great memories and friendships with his co-workers over the years.
In 1995 Larry met Debbie Hudgins and they were they married August 2, 1997 at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. In 1998 Larry and Debbie were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Madison Jewell Reyes. Being a father was one of Larry's greatest joys and has always been involved with all of her activities, or anything she asked her Daddy to do. Madison was definitely a "Daddy's Girl". He rarely said no to his "Girlie".
Larry was baptized in 1996 at Capitol Hill Baptist Church where they were members for 12 years. They have attended church for the past 14 years at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church. Larry had faith in Christ and throughout his life, his actions spoke louder than his words.
Larry was also quite the excursion specialist, Debbie called him the entertainment director. He planned all of their outings or vacations with family and friends. He'd find a great concert to go to, beach destination, cruises, and made plans regularly with his friends to golf at JR's and just relax. Larry and Debbie's home was the gathering place for their friends and he was the glue that kept them all active. Larry was quite the lawn care specialist and had a meticulously manicured yard that only he knew the secret of keeping in top notch condition. He stayed active and enjoyed running and working out with his crew at Moore Fit Body Boot Camp. He enjoyed sports, especially the OU Athletic Department. He supported Upward Basketball at St. Andrews, as a score keeper for many years. Even after working long nights, Larry would be at the games to help out, no matter how tired he was. Whether it was volunteering at Falls Creek as a cook for the week, being a sponsor at Camp Classen, going to watch his niece and nephew at their sports events, he always had that electric smile, an encouraging word, and a joy to others in anything he was involved with.
Larry left this earth quickly and unexpectedly, but his memory will remain forever with his family members, close friends and the countless lives he touched during his lifetime. He will always be remembered for his plethora of music, perfect hair, big smile, sweet soul, and his chill attitude.
