Lathon David Johnson, 76, of OKC, passed away July 23, 2010 in Norman, OK. He was born February 19, 1934 in Joy, OK to Guy W. and Pearl (Shivers) Johnson. He graduated from Mill Creek high school, received a Bachelors of Science degree from East Central University of Oklahoma and proudly earned his Masters of Science degree from the University of Oklahoma. On November 6, 1954, Mr. Johnson married Betty Taylor at Mill Creek Methodist Church. He taught school for 32 years, teaching in OKC public schools, SOJC, and OU. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean conflict. The loves of his life included spending time with his family, his animals, wood working, gardening and anything outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 5 brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife, Betty J. Johnson of the home; son, Nathan Johnson and wife Evaughna of Shawnee, OK; and grandchildren, Guy and Blair Johnson. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 10AM in the Vondel L Smith & Son South Chapel, S. Western Ave., with burial at 2PM in Oaklawn Cemetery, Wynnewood, OK.
