Leonard McMinn received his Heavenly reward on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the age of 79. He was born May 12, 1935 in Milan, Tennessee to his parents, Thomas Van Buren and Bertie (Lewis) McMinn. After graduating from Medina High School in Medina, Tennessee, Leonard continued his education at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee. He also later attended Oklahoma Christian University and Central State University before earning his Masters of Education from the University of Oklahoma. Leonard used his knowledge and helped mentor thousands of youth through his leadership by serving as a teacher at Brink Junior High, counselor at Moore High School as well as Central Junior High and assistant principal at Highland East and Moore West. Leonard also had a passion for serving the Lord and others. He was minister at several churches, most recently at Carter Church of Christ in Del City. A loving husband, devoted father, doting grandfather and loyal friend, Leonard will be deeply missed by all. He was preceded in death by his: Parents. Leonard leaves cherished memories with his loving: Wife of 59 years, Martha McMinn; Son, David McMinn and his wife, Donna; Son, Mark McMinn and his wife, Debra Cordova; Daughter, Jeanenne McMinn; Daughter, Neva McMinn; Sister, Linda McMinn and her husband, Thomas; 3 Grandchildren: Matthew, Mitchell, and Shayne McMinn; Great grandchild, William Alexander McMinn; Many other loving family and friends.
