Lewis Colley went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the age of 87. He was born May 27, 1923 in Oklahoma City to his parents, George Edgar and Mary Ann (Robison) Colley. He served in the Army Air Corp for 3 years as a Japanese Radio Intercept Operator in the Philippines during World War II. He then enlisted in the Air Force Reserve and was later recalled to active duty during the Korean War until his honorable discharge in 1952. Lewis worked as a civilian at Tinker Air Force Base and later transferred to Federal Aviation Administration as an aircraft mechanic where he retired in 1980 after 35 years of government service. Lewis was a loving and devoted father, husband, brother, grandfather and friend and dearly loved serving the Lord. He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his:
parents;
wife of 36 years, Cathern;
two brothers, Elmer and Wayne Colley;
sister, Esther Platt;
and stepson Bob VanValkenburg.
He is survived by his:
wife of 22 years, Vivian;
son, William "Bill" Colley and wife Bonita;
daughter, Beverly Jones and husband Bill;
stepdaughters: Paula Muzny and husband Dave and Karen King and husband Kenneth;
stepson, Tim VanValkenburg and wife Sue;
brother, Glenn Colley;
sisters: Mary Ann Curtin and Nancy Carol Nisbett, Ruth Crim and Naomi Webb. 14 grandchildren;
11 great grandchildren.
