Linda Dean Brown entered Heaven's gates on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at the age of 85. The daughter of Grace Francis (Root) Myers and Halmer Glaze Myers, she was born on June 26,1938 in Versailles, Illinois. Linda grew up in Versailles and Libertyville, Illinois, and graduated from Libertyville-Fremont High School in 1957. She was married in 1958 and had three children: Raymond (Brian), Frank, and Laura Beattie. The family lived in Holton and Fremont, Michigan, for many years before moving to Oklahoma.
Later in life, Linda met Donald Dwight Brown in Ponca City, Oklahoma, and they were married on June 23,1995. After spending their honeymoon on a cruise to the Bahamas, Linda and Don made their home in Oklahoma City and recently celebrated 28 years of marriage together. In addition to being a loving wife, devoted mother and dedicated homemaker, Linda also worked as a nurse's aide in Fremont, Michigan, and in housekeeping for an Albertson's warehouse in Ponca City and for the Sterling House in Oklahoma City. She also did home care in Oklahoma City.
Linda enjoyed many hobbies, including collecting cookbooks and recipes; painting; and rooting for the Oklahoma Sooners football team and the NBA Oklahoma Thunder. Her oil paintings took first place in various contests. Linda was known for her love of baking, cooking, and canning. She even published a family cookbook with her daughter, Laura, that is full of favorite recipes, family pictures, family history and many memories.
Linda is remembered as a loving, caring and fun woman. She enjoyed worshiping and fellowshiping at the New Hope Christian Church. She had a way of making everyone feel special and she took great pride in her family. She will be deeply missed and will continue to live on in our hearts.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Halmer and Grace Myers; brothers Phil Myers and Deal Myers; and sister Judy Porter. She leaves behind her loving family: Husband-Don Brown; Daughter-Laura Beattie; Sons-Brian (Linda) Beattie and Frank (Sarah) Beattie; Grandchildren-Michelle (Nick) Bulkowski, Brad (Natalie) Beattie, Michael (Meagan) Beattie, Crystal Meinert, Clint Smith and Kari Smith; Great grandchildren-Kenny, Jered and Wade Smith; Liam and Keir Bulkowski; Maddox, Berkley and Rileigh Meinert.
