Linda Sue Cook, 84, departed this life on August 24, 2024 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born in Paden, OK on May 31, 1940 to her father James F. O'Connell and mother Charlie Mae (Moore) O'Connell. After graduating from Seminole High School in 1957, she began her career as a bookkeeper for Green Propane in Seminole. In 1964 Linda married the love of her life, Glennis Ray Cook and together they were blessed with two sons, Jason, and Glennis Jr. Linda was also a stepmother to two daughters, Javonna Gorbet and Rita Weber. Linda was a devoted wife and mother, always providing wonderful memories of holidays at home, at the lake and many other cherished memories with her family.
In 2004 Linda laid her husband to rest after 40 years of marriage. She continued working as a registrar at Westmoor High School and retired in 2008. Linda loved spending time fishing at Lake Texoma, finding peace in God's nature and taking trips with her family. She also loved spending time in her beautiful flower garden and collecting antique oil lamps. Linda loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and they brought her so much joy with each cherished moment.
She will be forever remembered for her loving, giving spirit as well as her caring and compassionate nature.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; James Frances O'Connell & Charlie Mae O'Connell; her husband Glennis Ray Cook, her step- Father Paul Harwell, five brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her longtime companion Charles Shelden, her children; Glennis "Ray" Cook Jr. & wife Lena; Jason Cook & wife Sharla, Rita Weber and her husband Jackie, Javonna Gorbet and her husband Larry and one brother, Pat O'Connell; three grandchildren; Meagan Pruett & husband Daniel; Cole Cook & wife Hannah; and Marleigh Kate Cook. She is also survived by her two great grandchildren: Charley Parker & Colter Cook.
