Linda Curliss-Johnson's Obituary

Linda Curliss-Johnson, lovingly known as “Nana,” passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, in Oklahoma City and was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior.

Linda was born on January 4, 1952, in Oklahoma City to Bob and Dorothy Curliss. She was raised in South Oklahoma City alongside her brothers, Mickey, Kenneth, and Jimmy. Linda graduated from Southeast High School in 1970, where she made many fond memories.

Linda had a beautiful, God-given gift for music. She loved to sing and had the most angelic voice. She was a dedicated member of the choir at Crossroads Cathedral, where she ministered to others through worship. She was also an incredibly talented pianist who could play by ear, something that amazed everyone who had the joy of hearing her play.

On her 30th birthday, Linda met the love of her life, Rory Johnson. They were married on September 7, 1984, and built a life centered around love, faith, and family. Together, they raised two children, Cheri and Joseph Johnson.

Linda was a true homemaker at heart. She found joy in caring for her family, helping at her children’s school, and being surrounded by others who shared her faith. She had a way of making everyday life feel special, always taking care of the little things and doing it with love.

She was truly a kid at heart. Linda loved to laugh, tell jokes, and make everyone around her smile. She had a playful spirit, loved Elvis and his impersonators, and was always ready to break into song. If you spent any time with her, you probably heard her say with a laugh, “You better behave up in here,” or in her best Elvis voice, “Thank you, thank you very much,” - phrases that will forever bring smiles to those who knew her.

Linda never met a stranger. She had a gift for connecting with people and made friends everywhere she went, from the grocery store to the pharmacy and everywhere in between. To know her was to feel welcomed, seen, and loved.

Of all the roles she held, being “Nana” was her greatest joy. She poured her heart into her grandchildren, helping raise them from the time they were babies through their early childhood years. She showed up every day with love, patience, and joy, and being their Nana was truly the highlight of her life. To some, she was also affectionately known as “Precious,” a name that so perfectly reflected who she was.

Linda was kind, gentle, and full of light. She had a beautiful smile that could light up a room, and there was never anything harsh or unkind about her. Even during her battle with cancer, she remained strong in her faith, choosing joy, hope, and peace. She trusted in the Lord fully and was ready to meet her Savior.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Dorothy Curliss, and her brothers, Jimmy Curliss and Mickey Curliss.

She is survived by her loving husband, Rory Johnson; her brother, Kenneth Curliss and wife Deena; her daughter, Cheri Rollins and husband Jeremy; her son, Joseph Johnson and fiancée Kenzie Neece; her granddaughters, Camie Jae and Callaway Rose; her grandson, Krew Johnson; and granddaughter, Keely Johnson on the way; as well as extended family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on April 10, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at Hidden Trails Country Club, 6501 South Country Club Drive, Oklahoma City, OK 73159
