IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Jean
Smith
December 21, 1948 – June 24, 2023
Linda Jean Dixon Smith, 74, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 24, 2023. The daughter of Roscoe and Helen Dixon, she was born December 21, 1948, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She grew up attending schools in the Oklahoma City area and graduated from Capitol Hill High School in May of 1967. In June, she married her high school sweetheart, George Patton (Pat) Smith and together shared more than 39 years of marriage. This union of marriage was blessed with 2 children. In addition to being a loving wife and devoted mother, Linda also worked at Central Oklahoma Labor Federation as an administrative assistant and was an active union participant for over 40 years, serving as Financial Secretary and Trustee for the Office & Professional Employees International Union and the Corresponding Secretary for the Greater OKC Chapter Coalition of Labor Union Women. In 2023, she was presented with the Legends of Labor award. Linda was very passionate about workers' rights and women's rights, but nothing was as important as being with her family whom she loved with all of her heart, and her friends, some of whom she had known since elementary school. Linda was known for her organizational skills, her giving nature, her love of animals, and her lasagna, and will be fondly remembered as a kind, loving, and generous woman. She loved and cared deeply for her family and friends, and she will be held close to our hearts each day.
