Clinesmith - Wiggins
June 17, 1928 – December 11, 2023
Lois Marie Clinesmith - Wiggins was born on June 17, 1928 to Morris and Elsie Major in her grandmother's farmhouse in Cheyenne Valley, Oklahoma. Lois joined our Lord on December 11, 2023 at the age of 95. We will miss a beloved wife, adored mother, cherished grandmother, caring aunt, friend, and teacher. Lois graduated from Fairview High School in 1945 and went to Oklahoma A & M (OSU) at the age of 17, where she received her degree in Business Education. She also received her Masters in Education from Northwestern State College in Alva, OK. Lois taught 4th grade, but most of her career was teaching Business Classes to High School and College-age students. On November 24, 1948, Lois and Robert (Bob) Clinesmith were married. They raised two daughters, Mary and Barbara. They had a long and happy marriage for 47 years, before Bob's death. Lois then felt very blessed to have met another wonderful man, Roy Wiggins. Lois and Roy were married on January 1, 1999. They have been married for 25 years. Lois was an active and faithful member of the Methodist churches in the different places where she lived. Teaching was her passion, which she passed down to both of her daughters. She was a favorite teacher of numerous students. Lois also enjoyed sewing, playing cards and games, traveling around the world, and spending time with her family. Lois will be best remembered for her integrity, honesty, high moral standards, love of family, and a very generous heart.
Lois was greeted in Heaven by her husbands, Robert Clinesmith and Roy Wiggins; her parents, Morris and Elsie Major; mother-in-law, Mary Clinesmith; three siblings: Betty DuHamel, Bill (Vada) Major, Peggy (Richard) Fettke; in-laws: Hallie Fern (Calvin) Cowan, and Clay (Marilyn) Clinesmith, and one bonus grandchild, Micha Steelman. Lois is survived by her two daughter: Mary (Hadley) Hintergardt and Barbara (Ike) Bangs; five grandchildren: Kim (Rob) Wileman, Kristi (Larry) Gerstel, Jennifer Boswell Bangs, John (Melania) Bangs and David (Stephanie) Bangs; great grandchidlren: Alexandra (Landon) Hutchens, Blake Wileman, Jacob and Max Gerstel, Kelton and Blaise Boswell, Alessio Bangs Quesada, Mark and Molly Bangs; one great, great granddaughter, Payton Marie Hutchens; one brother-in-law, Gilbert DuHamel; and several nieces and nephews. Bonus Family: children: Ann (Carl) Bellflower, Harold (Judy) Wiggins, Susan (Larry) Narvaez; grandchildren (Brandy Steelman, Josiah (Janice) Bellflower, Leah Bellflower, Robert (Henri) Wiggins, Christy Wiggins, Jordan (Heather) Wiggins; great grandchildren: Isla and Everly Steelman, Charlotte, Juliet and Blaise Bellflower, Albert and Alex Narvaez, Ashley, Seth and Iris Wiggins.
There will be a Celebration of Life at Moore 1st United Methodist Church, 201 W. Main Street, Moore, OK 73160, will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 26, 2023. The service is under the direction of Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary. Lois will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Moore 1st United Methodist Church, Skyline Urban Ministries, or Bethany Children's Health Center.
We are grateful to the staff of Legend at Rivendell and Traditions Hospice for their loving care of Lois in her last years.
