On the wings of angels, Lyla peacefully stepped into eternity on Friday, July 31, 2026, wrapping up a beautiful journey of 83 years.

Her story began on February 1, 1943, when Lyla Diane Hill was born to Lyle Elmer and Doris Elaine (Parker) Hill in Humboldt, Nebraska.

It was there that she grew up and graduated from Humboldt High School in May 1961, marrying the love of her life, Gary Leo Rohlmeier, just a few days later. The newlyweds immediately moved to Oklahoma, embarking on a beautiful 64-year journey of building a life and family together.

When life brought early heartaches, Lyla’s fierce love for her family only grew. After losing her father at a young age and her mother shortly after moving to Oklahoma, Lyla didn't hesitate to open her heart and arms to her young brother, Lyle. Together, Gary and Lyla took him in, raising him as one of their own alongside their three boys, Kent, Keith, and Kurt, creating a home where family always came first.

As her boys grew, Lyla spent years keeping things running smoothly as a bookkeeper for local car dealerships. She later brought that same dedicated care and experience into the heart of her family’s life, helping Gary build and run their successful family businesses, including Crane Service, Jack Adams Trucking, Rent a Crane, and K & R Builders.

Lyla found true peace in the quiet comfort of her favorite pastimes, contentedly spending hours lost in the pages of a good book or working her way through a crossword puzzle. She brought a beautiful splash of color to the world with her signature love for red, blending it into a unique style that was completely and wonderfully her own. That colorful, vibrant spirit extended to her home, which was a true sanctuary and earned her the cherished title of the "Party Lady." She loved to gather people together, happily opening her doors for countless baby and bridal showers, birthday and Halloween parties, and hosting legendary Thanksgiving Day feasts where no one was ever a stranger, and everyone left with a full belly and heart.

Lyla was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Rohlmeier; her son, Kent Rohlmeier; her parents, Lyle and Doris Hill; and her sisters, Lillian Stevicks, Carolyn Kistler, Marta Belisle, and Roxanne Hill. She leaves behind a lasting legacy and is survived by her sons, Keith (Lisa) Rohlmeier and Kurt (Adrianna) Rohlmeier; her grandchildren, Christo (Lianne) Rohlmeier, Keisha (Luke) Olson, Megan Rohlmeier, and Vivian Rohlmeier; and her great-grandchildren, Gaige and Rylie Pyles, Addison Birkes, Lane, Wells, Worth, and McCall Olson. Her brother/son, Lyle Hill (Debbie); his children Tiffanie Karber (Andy), Tye Hill and Trent Hill; his grandchildren Colter, Cooper and Cohen Karber; her brother-in-law, Terry (Margaret) Rohlmeier; and numerous nieces, nephews, and their extended families.

While her family is deeply saddened by her loss, they find comfort in knowing she is peacefully reunited with her beloved husband Gary, her son Kent, and her departed siblings.

As the family's legendary "Party Lady," they know she is celebrating being together again—likely hosting the grandest feast heaven has ever seen.
