IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lyndall Edwin
Butler
October 2, 1930 – July 21, 2025
Lyndall (Lynn) Edwin Butler of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on
July 21, 2025, at the age of 94 with his family by his side. Lynn was born on October 2,
1930, to Clarence and Esie Butler. He was preceded in death by his parents; his
brothers, Raymond Butler and infant brother Glenn; and his daughter, Pat Meadows.
He devoted much of his life to public service dedicating 34 years to the Federal Aviation
Administration in various roles but mostly as a printer. Lynn loved his country and
honorably served in the United States Airforce during the Korean Conflict. After that
experience, he remained interested in aviation; ever looking to the sky to identify the
aircraft flying overhead.
Lynn was dedicated to Christ at an early age and devoted his life to faithful servanthood.
When he worshipped, which was often, he engaged with his entire being, blessing us all
regularly. His faith was unwavering to the very last breath. Lynn was a member of
Central Assembly of God where he taught Sunday School, played trumpet, and sang
with the Kinsman Quartet. Lynn was also a member of Crossings Community Church for
over 30 years.
Lynn was a man of great character and influenced the lives of family, friends and
acquaintances. He is universally admired for his unwavering faithfulness, diligence
and consistency. Effortlessly and without pretense, these qualities resulted in deep
respect from all who knew him. He was known for his heartfelt prayers, easy manner
and quick wit. He lived a full and vibrant life. He had a passion for flying, sailing and
motorcycles- always drawn to the open road. His love for music lasted his entire life,
often breaking into song without notice. But above all, he cherished his time with the
love of his life, Gaye, with whom he shared nearly fifty-nine beautiful years.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Gaye Butler, his son Mark Butler and wife Mindy and
daughter, Wende Leos. Lynn's legacy lives on through his grandchildren, Sydney
Herburger (Jake), Brock Butler, Shane Meadows (Quincy), Shelly Meadows, Clayton
Meadows as well as a host of great-grandchildren. Lynn will be remembered as a kind,
loving man who brought warmth and grace to every life he touched. He leaves behind a
legacy of love, strength, and gentle wisdom that will remain in the hearts of all who
knew him.
