Viewing for Marcella Hoskins will be 4-8 PM Thursday, September 16th and Friday, September 17th, 2021.
A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 am Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Vondel Smith South Colonial Chapel, 6934 S. Western Ave. Oklahoma City, OK.
Marcella Julia Hoskins, 93, went to be with her Heavenly father on the 10th day of September, 2021. The daughter of Ervin and Maudie Gramling, she was born January 24, 1928 in Duke, OK. She grew up attending schools in the town of Duke until the family moved to Oklahoma City. She married Robert Hoskins after her graduation from Capitol Hill High school. This union was blessed with one daughter, Linda Sue.
Marcella lovingly raised her grandson, Brian, in Eureka Springs after the passing of her daughter in 1985. She was a second mother to Brian and has his complete heart. Her sweet, loving nature was known by all. To Brian's friends she was affectionately known as "Nana."
She was a very hard worker, started working at age 15 and continued to work until the age of 88. Over the years she lived in many places, from Oklahoma City, Hawaii, Florida and finally Eureka Springs, AR. Marcella was sophisticated and well dressed. She loved to travel specifically, aboard a cruise ship with Brian, Amanda, Austin, Zachary and Kaylee they were the light of her life. She cared deeply for all her family and she will be held close to our hearts each day.
Marcella's belief and faith in the Lord was unwavering. Her devotion to her beliefs and desire to share her heart was evident in her daily life. She lived to honor God.
She was preceded in death by her:
Parents: Maudie & Ervin Gramling of Oklahoma City, OK,
Daughter: Linda Sue Young of Oklahoma City, OK.
She leaves behind her:
Grandson, Brian Young and spouse, Amanda of Eureka Springs, AR;
Three great grandchildren, Austin Young, Zachary Young, and Kaylee Young;
Siblings, Brenda Newman and spouse, Larry of Holt's Summit, MO. and Max Gramling and spouse, Jean of Oklahoma City, OK;
Several nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as other extended family and friends.
