Margaret, 77 passed away unexpectedly on July 23, 2026 in Oklahoma City.

Margaret was born in Oklahoma City to Homer “Ernie” Wilson, Sr. and Wanda Harry on November 13, 1948. She was raised in South OKC. Margaret had an eventful childhood and was a social butterfly from a very young age. She sometimes would help out at her father’s Town Tavern, in Norman on game days. She also worked at Emmer Brothers Dept Store in Capitol Hill in her teens. Margaret attended Capitol Hill High School and was crowned Miss Chieftain in 1967. She graduated that same year and has stayed in touch with countless classmates throughout the years.

Margaret worked for Wright Business School and then Village On The Park as a leasing director for over 18 years until she retired in 2024. She absolutely loved making personal connections with her co-workers as well as the residents. She made so many great memories and longtime friends during her time at Village on the Park.

Margaret enjoyed cooking and baking but really loved making candy for those dear to her. If she was preparing something special for family or friends, no matter how tired she was, she’d be in the kitchen making a huge mess, but the result was always sweet, delicious and filled with love. At Christmas time she would stay up until wee hours in the night making toffee and peanut brittle and still get up and go to work. Great Wolf Lodge trips with the family was something she looked forward to every year until the grandkids outgrew it. She was very family-oriented and supportive of her children and grandchildren and great granddaughter. Even if she didn’t feel good she would go to as many grandkids’ games, events, choir performances, etc., and this was all an expression of her deep love toward her family. Margaret was a dear daughter, loving wife, devoted mother and the best Mimi in the world. When we went places and you had to give them a name it was always Mimi. She loved her family fiercely.

She never met a stranger and if you met she considered you a forever friend. She would do anything for anybody. Her high school friends meant the world to her and she always enjoyed getting together to plan reunions. She had numerous 50’s & 60’s singles parties at her house on Abbeywood. Her and a group of high school buddies called themselves the “Caymen Cuties” and they would travel to the Caymen Islands. She loved to go to the casino, garage sales and the Dollar Store. You would find her dancing anywhere, anytime she would hear the music play. She loved to find a bargain even if she didn’t need it.

Margaret liked to stand out and loved attention but was humble and sweet at the same time. She will always be remembered for the way she would light up the room when she walked in. Margaret will be deeply missed by her friends and loved ones but her memory will live on through the lives she touched.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Beaty, Father, Ernie Wilson, Sr., Mother, Wanda Creel – Albright, Stepfather, Elic Creel, Stepbrother Homer E. Wilson, II, and an infant brother.

She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Jackson & husband Billy Jackson and Kristi Lackey; Significant other, Gary Schwartz; 2 sisters, Susie Whitson & husband Perry Whitson, Tammie Creel-Williams & husband Dan Williams; grandchildren, Gabriela Lawson, Dylan Jackson, Jase Jackson and Gavin Lackey; great granddaughter Lilly Ann the apple of her eye.
